A personal project. I found this vintage sketch by Wladyslaw T. Benda at www.loc.gov. I loved it so I decided to make it a challenge for myself. I decided to attempt to transform it into a realistic piece that appeared to be an oil portrait.. I tried to maintain the essentials in lighting and coloration, while making the subject a bit more believable and yet, still resemble the artist's original subject. Not sure I succeeded in that, but I'm happy with the outcome, nonetheless.
